Plan cuts from your own tools
A REST API and an MCP server for linear cutting, sheet cutting, true-shape nesting and load planning. The same rules, plans and limits as the web, from a script or an AI assistant.

Three ways in
REST API
JSON in and out at https://api.nestsolver.com/v1. Linear and sheet cut lists solve at once; nests and loads run as jobs you poll.
Make your first call
MCP server
Point Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP client at https://mcp.nestsolver.com/ with your key, and ask it to plan a job.

Plans and limits
Every call runs under the key's workspace plan: the same job caps, search pool and per-minute budgets as the web.

Guides
Everything in the docs
Start
- Overview What the NestSolver API and MCP server do, where they live, and how a call works. Start here.
- Quickstart Make a key, send a linear cut list, and read the plan that comes back. Five minutes, one request.
- Concepts The words the API uses, from the shop floor: stock, parts, kerf, drops, plans, jobs, tiers, lanes and the pool.
- Authentication API keys and sign-in for assistants: how to make a key, how to send it, what it can reach, how connectors sign in with OAuth, and how to revoke either.
- Plans and limits What each plan allows over the API and MCP: job caps, per-minute budgets, Free's monthly loads, the monthly search pool and its lanes.
- Idempotency and retries Send an Idempotency-Key with every POST, so a retry gets the first answer back and nothing is solved or counted twice.
- Errors Every refusal has the same shape: a list of problems, each naming its field in the web form's words, and the plan that lifts a cap.
Calls
- Linear cutting Cut parts to length from bars, pipe, tube, extrusion or lumber with the least waste. Solves in one call.
- Sheet cutting Cut rectangular parts from sheets for a panel saw or a CNC router, around trims and defects. Solves in one call.
- True-shape nesting Nest irregular parts from the workspace's part library, or rectangles and circles typed by size, on sheets. Runs as a job.
- Load planning Load items into cartons, pallets and vehicles with stacking rules, weight limits and axle loads. Runs as a job.
- Jobs and plans Nests and loads run as jobs: poll a job until it is done, then read the plan it made. Both calls are free.
- Exports A finished plan's files: DXF and SVG for nests, CSV and Excel for loads, labels, and the print packet. Free calls that answer with the file itself.
- Usage Read the workspace's full-speed search time this month, what is left, the lane the next nest or load runs in, and on Free the loads left.
